5 Years Later

Tonight I was watching a DVD on folksingers when the Bros. Four sang "Try to Remember" and made me remember those times 50 years ago when Mom used to play records (you know, those big flat vinyl things we put on a record player before, 8-tracks, cassettes, & Cd's) and we listen and try to sing along. Even years later when we get together for family gatherings, and we sing together, I still think of those as good times. Even though it was a couple days ago, her 5th anniversary of her passing, I still think of that wonderful woman who introduced me to music and think of the things that would have been different if I never would have developed my love for music because of her. No joining the band playing tromone, then the Marine band where I would come home on Mondays to a young adult family evening where I met my wife, which led to four great kids (thou Jaime, you nearly broke me mentally, LOL) and that led to 19 grandchildren (#19 due soon). Thanks Mom, because of you I have most of the joys in my life.
